About the memorial: Wooden Pew-South Side of Central Aisle, 6th pew from front, south end Major du Boulay lived and died at Folkestone and was descended from French Huguenots. He was 46 when he died in 1921 very probably from the effects of war. He had been a soldier pre-war and was in Burma in 1913 when his son, Joscyln Fogan Houssemayne du Boulay was born. Joscyln had a notable military career in WW2 and then after the war moved to Greystoke but worshipped at Keswick St John’s and Threlkeld Churches. In the 2nd half of the 20th century (he died in 2006) the existing pews at Keswick St John’s were made available for dedication and Josclyn had this one dedicated to his parents.
