About the memorial: The memorial is located on the west side of the A592 Roadside near St. Patrick’s boat landing and well. It is a freestanding rough hewn stone block, with 2 plaques, one for each war. There are also two dedicated wood and metal seats in the memorial area. To the north of Patterdale Church

WILKINSON/G.READSHAW Oliver READSHAW died of wounds in Belgium just 4 weeks after his brother George READSHAW but has been missed off the memorial. [T.H. Wall (died 17/4/1918 aged 24) is buried in the Churchyard with a military style gravestone. Tom Little (died 10/11/1917 aged 21) is also commemorated on a gravestone. G.R. Bennett, C.J. Mason, J. Pattinson & J. Wilkinson are not included on the Public Hall Memorial. WW2-S.W. CURRY/T. HADWIN/F. MALLINSON/T.H. MURRAY/H.W. THOMPSON/A.G. TALLENTIRE/W.C. WILSON/T.W. WYNN H.W. Thompson (died 2/5/1944 aged 23) is buried in the Churchyard.]
