About the memorial: There are 2 WW2 Civil Defence casualties as well as 34 WW1 and 11 WW2 service casualties. The memorial was dedicated in 1920 but moved from a nearby road junction in 1953 for safety reasons. Rough-hewn stone cross on tapering plinth bearing names and dates. The whole stands on two-stepped base in a garden area.
