About the memorial: The memorial consists of a brass plaque on a wooden backboard on the South wall of the chancel, two bells and a clock. Bell 1 is in general memory, Bell 2 is specifically in memory of John Fraser Hoyland. The plaque was made by 1037 GHQ Reserve RT Company (at Treviso, Italy in 1918). The clock was restored by public subscription in 2005 Frank Dearsley (F.B. Dearsley)- Private of 4th/5th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers died on 10 August 1916 aged 27 and is buried at Finsthwaite. He was the husband of T H Dearsley of Stott Park, Lakeside. On the south wall of the sanctuary. There is now a 3rd plaque below about the restoration of the tubular bells. This is not part of the memorial, but is included here for completeness and for the avoidance of doubt. On the opposite wall, below the WW2 Plaque etc is a modern Roll of Honour with biographies of the fallen of both wars and a simple loose card giving their names.
