About the memorial: This is a modern (late 20th century) memorial, a colour photograph of a large poppy wreath set against a background of wood, and with the names overwritten. All in a glazed wooden frame The church is in a field on the north side of the minor road from Low Row to Gilsland, at Chapelburn. The memorial is on the west wall. Note there is also a gravestone reference to Frederick William Bell, died 4th October 1917
