About the memorial: The war memorials are inside the church, which is normally kept locked, but a key may be obtained from Manor Farm, which lies just off the main road. As you enter the door, on a pillar in the south aisle is a simple roll of honour written in black ink on a white card within a wooden frame. The Roll of Honour is for those men who served in the Great War, 1914 – 1919 from Strubby and Woodthorpe parishes. The names are in alphabetical order, listed by surname with forenames, rank and regiment; those that died are indicated by a cross.
