About the memorial: One of a number of memorials in Pinchbeck, this is unusual in that the panels of the Pulpit were carved by Belgian Refugees. See photographs. The left panel shows Our Lady and the Infant Jesus above the words, 'God is a Refuge for us' and 'Made by the Belgian Refugees 1915'. The centre panel shows an angel offering a Victor's Wreath to a fallen officer, below which is the dedication plate. The right hand panel shows the crucifixion with a fallen soldier's hand touching Our Lord's feet below which are the words from St John 15,'Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends.'
