About the memorial: Cited in a small gravel area at the junction of Chapel Lane and Sarn Road in Threapwood village. An obelisk of pink granite set on 2 pink granite blocks and below that 2 pink sandstone plinths and below that a sandstone kerb. Incised lettering on 3 sides. There is a kerb chain and metal railing around, painted white. A gate in the front of the railing was locked with a small padlock at the time of the inspection. There is some wear to the outer letters on the south/front face. The bible extract on the south/front face is painted in gold, in good condition. The area inside the railing is planted with pots of flowers. The whole looks well maintained and cared for. There is a Threapwood Parish Council notice board immediately adjacent to the monument.
