Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

This stone was raised by the people of Greenhow Hill parish and their friends in grateful memory of all who served their God, king and country in the Great War 1914 - 1919 for right and freedom.(Back and inscribed in the stone) Unveiled Armistice Day Nov. 11th 1929.

Greenhow men and women who answered the call: Whitehead Busfield, Horace Marshall, William Newbould, Herbert Swales, Leonard Swales, Thomas Whitehead, died for their country. And, Margaret A. Newbould R.R.C., William H. Barrett, Robert Busfield, John Dunn, Albert France, Joseph King, George Marshall, Eddie Moor, Henry Newbould, Alexander L. Pratt, Alfred Simpson, Allan Simpson, Arthur Simpson, Joseph Simpson, Raymond L. Simpson, Arthur E. Smithson, James Swales, Thomas Swales, Herbert Whitehead, John R. Whitehead, Nedd Whitehead, also served with honour.
