Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
Before applying for a grant you should read the advice available on War Memorials Trust`s website. The What we can and cannot fund helpsheet explains what types of work the charity can fund.
If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.
The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

John Pickard Becher born on 20 July 1880 at Southwell Nottinghamshire. He was the son of John Henry Becher and Alice Mary Pickard-Cambridge. He married Gertrude Veronica Gale, daughter of Henry Mark Gale Gale, on 20 April 1911 at Southwell. She lived at The Elms Southwell. He was the father of Squadron Leader John Henry Becher born 5/8/1913 killed in action 10/8/1940, Mary Veronica Becher (5/8/1913-15/7/1997) and Margaret Joan becher (24/3/1916-April 1995). Becher gained the rank of Lieutenant on 15 July 1907 in the service of the Sherwood Foresters Territorial Forces and the rank of Captain on 9 May 1910. He was promoted Major 18/2/1915. He won the Distinguished Service Order (DSO) in 1915. He was dangerously wounded 15/10/1915 at the Hohenzollern Redoubt thirty yards from the German lines and lay forty eight hours waiting for assistance.Two of Becher's brothers in law Henry and Everard Handford were killed in the same action. Becher died of septic poisoning at No. 3 Red Cross Hospital.
