About the memorial: There are three seperate memorials in the church all dedicated to the First World War. The first two are a pair of stained glass windows situated either side of the altar. Each window is approx 9' 6' high x 5' wide with an arched top, and the third is a framed and glazed illuminated address approx 1' 6' wide x 2' 8' high which was originally located at Hoxton Road Methodist Church. That church was demolished in 2011 and the memorial was relocated to Westborough Road. The windows are dedicated as follows: The first is headed 'Blessed are the Peacemakers' and is dedicated to 120 members of the congregation who served in the Great War and returned safely. The second is headed 'Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life' , and is dedicated to 8 members of the congregation who died in the bombardment of Scarborough by the German Navy on December 16th 1914.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

Also in reverent thanksgiving for the safe return of the 120 members of this church and congregation who with equal devotion and lofty purpose faithfully served their King and Country during the Great War 1914 - 1919. Window 2: Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life. To the glory of God & in honoured memory of the undermentioned members of the Westborough Wesleyan Church and congregation who in the cause of righteousness & freedom laid down their lives in the Great War 1914 - 1919. Killed in the bombardment of Scarborough Dec 16th 1914. Illuminated address: To the Glory of God and in memory of the men of this church who served in the Great War 1914 - 1918, and survived.
