About the memorial: Plaque of unknown nature. This report was raised when War Memorials Trust received information that a memorial to this man was in "a Broadstone church". The pin position was placed on St Peter's as it was the best bet, being the parish church. I have now searched this church three times for this memorial without result. I have consulted the present curate who has never seen this name on a memorial in his church. Broadstone Baptist and Methodist Churches have confirmed by email that they have no war memorials at all. The United Reformed Church (formerly Congregational) did not reply to my email. I have tried peering through the stained glass windows and seen nothing that looks like a wall plaque, but this is not conclusive. The Congregational Church has met in Broadstone since 1847 but the present building dates from 1928 and replaced a small chapel. Pte Beauvoir Nelson served with the Canadian Army, was killed in 1915, and is commemorated on the Menin Gate. He is not found in the IWM Register. Googling his name unleashes a multitude of references to a love affair between Simone de Beauvoir and Nelson Algren, but picking theough the pages turned up nothing beyond the Canadian Virtual War Memorial and the CWGC. There is no evidence of any family link to Broadstone.
