Status: On original site
Type: Freestanding
Location: External
Setting: Within a garden/park/churchyard/enclosure/Marketplace
Description: Pillar/column
Materials:
  • Metal Bronze
  • Stone Stone (any)
Lettering: Raised
Conflicts:
  • First World War (1914-1918)
  • Second World War (1939-1945)
About the memorial: Column dedicated to those from Prestatyn who lost their lives during the First and Second World War. There are metal panels with the names listed. Is this a newer monument because both WW1 and WW11 names are listed inside the church and this outside monument looks fairly new with a raised stone octagonal tiered platform situated just to the right of the main door? As panels for both wars are set into prescribed niches on the column, it was certainly not raised until well after 1945.
