About the memorial: Attached to the wall between 2 ticket windows. First World War roll of honour, various units, of employees of the Railway Company. Hand illustrated and coloured. List of names with rank and regiments written in the manner of a scroll in the centre of a large sheet of paper with a highly decorated border of drawings of memorable sites in and around Stratford. Underneath are drawn a signalman, a steam engine with coal truck and a returning wounded soldier. Signed by Harry Furniss, a well known illustrator of the time.
