About the memorial: Two-stepped hexagonal base surmounted by a small tapering square sectioned plinth with year inscription in relief. Rising from the plinth is an unusual double bladed axe-like cross on tallish stout rectangular column with three metal inscription plaques, all with raised lettering, showing dedication and names, attached to front face. The lower plaque is in the form of a wreath. The whole memorial stands within a walled & semi-enclosed paved area with a post & chain frontage to the road junction.
