About the memorial: Polished black granite memorial with engraved lettering painted gold. In three levels; top level engraved with a crossed Union Jacks motif painted gold. Surmounted by a polished black granite obelisk, with engraved image of crossed rifle and sword within wreath. Pedestal composed of one deep level of unpolished grey granite above two levels of concrete painted grey. Inset into pedestal on front elevation is a polished grey granite plaque engraved with lettering painted gold. Rests on concrete base within enclosure of cast iron railings painted black with gold details, set into stone base painted grey. Gate on eastern side facing road. Accessed via stone steps leading from road, with modern handrail.
