About the memorial: Three-stepped base surmounted by column, cornice and small Latin cross. Carved inscriptions in Black lettering on two sides of the column and on a vase placed at the foot of the 3 O'clock face of the memorial. Whole is enclosed by wrought iron railings with gated entrance. Wreath with crossed rifles placed through it carved in relief at the foot of the front of memorial. Crown carved on the front face of the cross. Pattern comprising a fouled anchor within a wreath and flanked by laurel leaves and berries on one side and oak leaves on the other is depicted on three sides of the cornice.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
