About the memorial: Standing in the churchyard to the south of the church, opposite the church door.A rough finished granite wheel cross, with intertwined design on the cross itself. The cross stands upon a three-tiered octagonal base, the front bearing the general commemoration for WW1, flanked on the different tiers with the names of 29 men who fell in WW1. These are arranged in rough alphabetical order, giving first name and surname. Those who fell in WW2 are listed on the reverse, which lists 10 names, although 2 of these died post-war, together with a general commemoration to the men of the 8th USAAF (US Armed Forces). The whole sits upon an octagonal platform, surrounded by gravel, granite posts and a chain fence.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
