About the memorial: The Rifles Shaftesbury was erected on Park Walk in 2013 and is dedicated to the Dorsetshire regiment, which was amalgamated into the Rifles Regiment. WMT is aware that Historic England have requested the memorial is relocated as it was constructed within the area of an Ancient Scheduled Monument. Once the war memorial has been relocated, WMT will update this record. The war memorial is currently in storage. In Sept 2016 it was re-dedicated in Mampitts Cemetery.
