About the memorial: On the rear, west wall of the nave. It is a latten-bronze plaque mounted on panels of Irish green marble backed by pink alabaster,, commemorating Captain Charles Seymour Pittis, MC, who was killed in action in 1917. The top bearing the badge of the Hampshire Regiment flanked by palm fronds. The plaque was designed by Percy G Stone F.S.A. It was unveiled and dedicated at a service in St George's Church on 4 April 1918 conducted by the Rev. Canon Clement Smith, M.V.O. The report of the unveiling and dedication can be found in the Isle of Wight County Press of Saturday, April 6, 1918.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
