About the memorial: The tail fin from a Avro Shackelton MR MK3 was recovered from former RAF Ballykelly by the Roe Valley Branch of the Royal Air Force Association and was refurbished at RAF Aldergrove. It was erected along with the assistance and kind permission of the Drumachose Parish Select Vestry

This memorial is dedicated to all those who served at RAF Ballykelly, RAF Eglinton, RAF Limavady and Maydown and all associated units throughout WW2 and the subsequent Cold War period and commemorates those who made the supreme sacrifice.We will remember them
