About the memorial: Polebrook Airfield, memorial car park : The memorial is sign-posted from Lutton Rd. Main memorial formed by a large rectangular plinth surmounted by a pyramid. Badges are on the sides. Smallest tablet is set into the ground a short distance in front of pyramid memorial. Inscription in white lettering on main memorial & incised lettering on tablet. Squadron badges on the front of main memorial & a motif of a B-17 on front of base. Map showing runways on tablet. Heading from Polebrook to Lutton after approximately 3.5 kms turn right where sign-posted. After approximately 1 km the gateway to the memorial park is on the right. The exact National Grid Reference is TL 10000 86793

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
