About the memorial: A playing field with a pair of brick pillars supporting two traffic and one pedestrian gate, on the left hand pillar is a simple stone plaque with dedication. More modern metal gates are installed alongside and one pillar appears to have been rebuilt.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

THESE PLAYING FIELDS WERE GIVEN FOR THE USE OF THE CHILDREN OF ALVECHURCH BY WALTER WILLIAM & EDITH WIGGIN OF THE FOREHILL HOUSE IN MEMORY OF THEIR SON GEORGE ROBERT WIGGIN WHO WAS KILLED IN ACTION IN SINAI, ON APRIL 23rd 1916
