About the memorial: Worle War Memorial was dedicated in 1922. The money to build the enclosed, roofed clock tower was raised from local prescription. Marble plaques commemorating those who died in both World Wars are hung inside the small building. There are seats in each of the four corners and wrought iron gates that were added in 1959 after the original oak gates were vandalised.
