About the memorial: The memorial is on the lower ground floor in the Folk Life Gallery of the Manx Museum, under the care of Manx National Heritage (Ref L21411). It is a framed and glazed Roll of Honour. Initials and first letter of the surname are in red lettering and the rest in black. The years after the surname which denote the date of death are also in red. There are 8 columns of names listed, with a painted landscape scene above. Two motifs on the left-hand side; the IOM Volunteers emblem and the Three Legs of Man in a gold circle. The two motifs on the right-hand side are military badges. The memorial was a private donation, presented by John H. Nicholson, R.I. Isle of Man National Inventory of War Memorials: IOM_NIWM_DOU_00022
