About the memorial: Two-stepped circular base surmounted by a three-stage plinth. Octagonal sectioned first stage, a tapering eight-sided pyramid styled second stage with an octagonal sectioned third stage. Rising from the third stage is a tapering octagonal sectioned column, collar and cross. Crest in relief on one side and incised inscriptions on all sides of uppermost plinth with another inscription around perimeter of lower plinth. South facing sundial mounted on upper step with incised reading face inset into lower plinth. The whole memorial is sited on one of the two Village Green areas.
