About the memorial: This Plaque was once affixed to the Christchurch Annex of Gloucester Road School, which served as a VAD Hospital. The plaque was moved to the Museum when the building was demolished.

Alma Inter CaritasThis building was used as a Hospital for sick and wounded soldiers of the Great War. It was manned by Gloucestershire Voluntary & Detachment No. 108 and was open from 30 June 1915 to 31 January 1919 during which period 2995 cases were treated.
