About the memorial: Memorial destroyed by car accident in 2012. Memorial now rebuilt on original site and in good condition. The memorial is a square shafted cross approximately four metres high. The large square base is engraved on all four sides. The whole is mounted on a two-stepped sandstone plinth in a chain-link enclosure. The original photograph dates from before the car accident, as does the google streeet view image currently in use. Press report - see Link - shows that the memorial has been rebuilt.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
