About the memorial: The Illuminated Framed Dedication is on the wall (along with one for WW11) of the Village Hall. two boards hang in the Village Hall, with the names of those who served in both wars from Upper Slaughter. It is not a war memorial as such, as all those listed, who went to both first and second world wars returned, so there was no loss of life. The village is what is known as 'a doubly thankful village.'
