Sacred to the memory of Charles How Proby, Lieut. in the Royal Regt. and second son of Captn. Proby R.N. and of Louisa Mary his wife, deeply beloved and lamented, he died at Malta on his voyage to England after having served in the cause of his Country the brief period of one year. The following text personally applied by himself may be fitly here inscribed. 'Into Thy Hands I commend my spirit for Thou hast redeemed me, O Lord, Thou God of truth'. Ps. XXXI.6. Born May 25th 1834. Died September 10 1855.
