About the memorial: Memorial in the churchyard to four Hurricane pilots who died on 8th October 1941. Z3781 crashed at Ballaskeig, Z3457 crashed at Ballafayle-e-Callow, Z3253 crashed just below Snaefell mines and Z3677 crashed near the North Laxey mine.Erected in 1996 by the Manx Aviation Preservation Society in association with the Eagle Squadron Association, the memorial consists of a bronze plaque with raised lettering atop a stone-built plinth.
