About the memorial: The memorial consists of a marble tablet set in a stone wall. The marble memorial itself consists of a tablet, frieze and pediment. The inscription is inscribed, with black finish. The marble tablet is set on a background of slate, beneath which are two marble corbles. The stone wall in constructed in rough sandstone over nine courses, with cap stones, and projecting flanking stepped wall. The style and materials used would suggest the marble tablet was originally within a church and chapel and later placed in its current setting.
