About the memorial: Celtic encircled cruciform, tapered column iconographic circled loops, cross base squared shaft with inscriptions carved into stone, highlighted in black.On three stepped Portland stone block base. Erected in 1920 from monies raised by public subscription. Monument stands within an asymmetric triangle of grassed area interspersed with Mature Oak, semi mature trees and saplings. Wooden memorial bench positioned centrally. The memorial land registered as Public Open Space October 2012.The Monument and land owned and administered in perpetuity by Hindlip,Martin Hussingtree & Salwarpe Parish Council, for the benefit of the inhabitants. The monument and surrounding memorial land restored 2012 to 2014, and re-dedicated on 3rd August 2014, WW1 Centenary Commemoration.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.
