About the memorial: Main tablet : Decorative marble tablet with a plain cross at the top, set on a dark marble background. Above the text is an enamelled White Ensign and Union Jack on each side of carved laurel wreath , blow which is a scroll that says – FOR KING AND COUNTRY. On each corner of the tablet is a gold leaf cross. Second tablet for the 1939-1945 conflict is white marble with decorative left and right side edges.
