About the memorial: Celtic Cross on stumpy stem on top of tall, tapering plinth, with dedication & names, on square 2 stepped base. Situated in plot edged by chain link fence. Square concrete foundation supporting a two-stepped square base made up of rough-hewn granite blocks surmounted by a rectangular tapering solid rough-hewn granite pillar topped by a short rectangular rough-hewn tapering shaft and integral pierced wheel cross. Three of the pillar faces each have two recessed smoothened areas bearing inscriptions at the front and names to the sides. Front faces of shaft and wheel cross are decorated in a Celtic style. The whole memorial is surrounded by a grassed area which is enclosed at the rear and right side by walls with several posts and a single chain barrier to the left side and roadside frontage.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
