About the memorial: The memorial consists of a rustic grey granite obelisk set on a stepped plinth and low cairn base, built with local stone. Inscription tablets are set onto the sides of the plinth with an additional tablet for WW2 names placed on the front face of the base. Scottish thistles in the form of a wreath and placed at the cross arms of a cross are engraved on the front face of the obelisk. The memorial has inscriptions of 32 names for WW1 and 8 names for WW2. To locate the memorial- go west on the B884 from Dunvegan through Colbost. Past Glendale Free Presbyterian Church on right. Past road on left signposted FÃ sach then take unmarked fork immediately afterwards. The Memorial is up the path on the right before the cemetery. It would appear that the memorial was originally enclosed within wrought iron railings, which were removed sometime prior to 2009. A low dry-stane dyke enclosure now replaces the metal railings. The memorial was unveiled and dedicated on Tuesday 28 July 1924 in the presence of a great crowd of friends and relatives of the 32 Men commemorated on it. Following a prayer in Gaelic by the Rev. Murdo McCaskill (the Free Presbyterian Church elder), the memorial was unveiled by Captain Martin of Glendale. A closing prayer was given by the Rev. Gillies of the United Free Church.
