About the memorial: On the edge of the churchyard, overlooking the road. Rough surfaced Celtic cross with sword in relief and dedication in black lettering on its front face, set on tapering rough edged plinth with WW1 names. This stands on square 2 step base, with further angled stone in front with WW2 names, in rough stoned plot in churchyard.There are 17 names relating to WW1 on the front face of the plinth, with a further 6 added on an additional tablet in 1977, placed at the base at the front. There are 4 names relating to the fallen of WW2 (3 men and 1 woman), on the top surface of the front base. The names in each group are in surname alphabetical order, with first names, but only initials for the later additions. No rank or units are given.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
