About the memorial: Book of remembrance kept in a wooden and glass case. There is also a picture above the Book of Remembrance showing the effect of the Blitz bombing on Birmingham. It is in the Chapel of the Guild of the Holy Cross, which is at the east end of the North Aisle. For the names there are a number of loose leaf pages, only one of which is on display at any given time. On 10 May 2022 the names page displayed was that for Maud Gladys Turner to Thomas Ward

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

Before applying for a grant you should read the advice available on War Memorials Trust`s website. The What we can and cannot fund helpsheet explains what types of work the charity can fund.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

Sign about the Calligrapher- About the calligrapher/Sandra Sandilands made these works and wrote out/the Roll of Honour in the display case beneath the/picture of blitz conditions. She teaches calligraphy/for Birmingham Adult Education Service, and at/The Pen Room, museum of pens and writing equipment/in Frederick Street, Jewellery Quarter. She is the wife/of the Beadle at St Paul's Church, St Paul's Square, and former secretary to Mr A G Cave, General Works/Manager at BSA Motor Cycles, Armoury Road, Small Heath, who commissioned the Roll.
