About the memorial: LIFE SIZE BRONZE FIGURE OF E G ABBOTT AT REST IN FULL UNIFORM THERE IS ALSO A BRASS PLAQUE NEXT TO THE FIGURE REGIMENTAL BADGE AT THE FOOT OF THE MEMORIAL AND AROUND THE BASE. ABOVE THE BRONZE IS THE ORIGINAL WOODEN CROSS FROM HIS GRAVE. THE FACE ON THE BRONZE STATUE IS THAT OF ERIC GOWARD ABBOTT.
