The Burma Star Association adopted as the Kohima Epitaph the well-known phrase - When you go home tell them of us and say - for your tomorrow we gave our today. The explanatory plaque is in the passageway shown at the bottom right of the photo taken from East Street. .You go through this passageway to reach the cottages.
