About the memorial: Proprietary wooden frame (Reg. no. 735433) enclosing Pte Stevenson's 1914/15 Star, British War Medal, Allied Victory Medal and next of kin plaque. this is a large, unusual and highly elaborate plaque consisting of a domed top with several decorated borders. In the top centre is a cenotaph with a crown on top, 4 small ladders, furled colours lean against it on either side. there is a gun carriage to the right. underneath are two small laurel wreaths on either side of the space for his 3 medals with more furled colours below.

on the cenotaph - "the glorious dead" and "The path of duty was the way to glory" the inscription on the museum white board says "Memorial in the form of the cenotaph to Pte Robert/Stevenson, 5th Bn KSLI 1914-1918 Containing his three medals (14-15 St, BWM, AVM) and memorial/plaque. Pte Stevenson was killed near Ypres 25th September/1915"
