About the memorial: The Hall itself was erected in 1924 to perpetuate the memory of the Great War and the men of the Civil Parish of Brigham who served in the war. A memorial plaque to 'those who died for their country' in 'The Great War' is displayed. The names of those lost in WW2 have been added. This plaque and building still serves as a war memorial. The Hall was originally opened by Mr Weatherston, who was seriously injured during the WWI, and his photograph is still prominently displayed. It was opened on 20 November 1924 by Mr B P Weatherston, an ex-serviceman of the village. The plaque is on the left hand side of the stage. On an adjacent window ledge is a modern ring bound folder with researched details on each fallen WW1 name. The hall is a brick and stone building comprising of a main entrance, porch, 2 cloak rooms, main room, supper room, kitchen and side entrance. The lower part of the walls are wainscotted with pitch pine and the mouldings of similar wood are all varnished. The upper parts are coloured green with cream window margins. All other woodwork (including doors) is stained and varnished. The windows and doors are glazed with arctic glass. The plaque is clearly later

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
