About the memorial: This Black Stone tablet on which is White lettering is set into the ground near to the spot where on the 31st, July 1944 the light aircraft on which were Flight Sergeant Allan 'Charlie' Cox and his friend Flight Sergeant Gordon Preston crashed into the ground killing both men.

Not forgotten 60th, Anniversary 2004. This stone is laid in remembrance of Sgt Sgt Allan Charlie Cox and Flt Sgt Gordon Preston of Pinner Middlesex Who's plane crashed near this site on: 31st, July 1944. We will remember them.
