To the Glory of God and in ever loving memory of Christopher Basil Astley Lieut 10th (Scottish) 'The Kings' Liverpool Regt. aged 22. Youngest son of Revd John Henry Astley MA (curate of this parish 1907-1919) and Sophia Ridgway his wife who died at Rouen of wounds received in action July 27th 1918.Also of their son in law Charles Caesar de Merindol Malan. Lieut-Commander Royal Navy, HMS 'Opal' aged 31 drowned at sea on active service Jan 12th 1918. Called to higher service
