In affectionate remembrance of Walter, son of Joseph and Jane Vaughan, of Vron Gate, who volunteered into the KSLI and was the first of the parish to fall in the Great War. Died of his wounds at Boulogne May 13th 1916 aged 23 years. 'Greater love hath no man than this, that a man may lie down his life for his friends.'
