About the memorial: Standing in the churchyard to the north of St. Martin's Church.Addition to the gravestone of Sarah Ann Bacon, also commemorating three of her sons and one son-in-law who were killed in action in WW1: Sidney Bacon, killed in action on 19 December, 1914, aged 27; Ralph Hornigold Bacon, killed in action on 21 March, 1918, aged 26; Percy William Bacon, killed in action also on 21 March, 1918, aged 19; and Bert Bell, died of wounds on 22 July, 1918, aged 24. L/Cpl. Sidney Bacon, 1st Bn, Norfolk Regt; Pte. Ralph H. Bacon, 9th Bn, Norfolk Regt; Rfmn. Percy W. Bacon, 13th Bn, King's Royal Rifle Corps; & Pte. Bert Bell, 7th Bn, Norfolk Regt.
