About the memorial: A small pillar approx. 4ft high.. This memorial marks the arrival of the first United States Troops in Northern Ireland in 1942. Locally referred to as ‘The Shaving Stick.’ On the top of the memorial is the list of Armed Forces that served in NI. whereas on one side are the three badges of the three services.
