About the memorial: Village hall (formerly the Men's Institute) with clock and plaque. Clock with two large faces above the upper middle window in the gable end. It has Roman numerals. It is supported by a large wrought iron bracket. On the same wall, set between the upper and lower windows, is the marble plaque bearing the dedication. The lettering is in leaded Roman capitals. A bracket has been placed on the wall on each side of the plaque so that wreaths can be hung, presumably from the windows above.
