About the memorial: The memorial stands in the churchyard on the south side of the church. It faces north and is alongside the path from Chucrch Lane to the south door of the church. It faces north and the inscription and decoration are only on the north side.Made from Creetown Granite by B.A.Barnes & Co of Malton, the unveiling and dedication took place on 18/09/1948.

Killed in action 14th May 1940, aged 27 years (Piloting Fairey Battle P5232 JN-I attacking roads and bridges Remilly-Aillicourt, shot down by German Me109 fighters. One survivor from crew of three. Squadron lost all aircraft detailed for this attack). Son of George Robert and Clara Barker (nee Holliday) of Flat Top Farm, Terrington. Husband of Vi Barker (nee Biddiscombe) of Andover, HAM. Commemorated Choloy War Cemetery. IA.A.14-15.

Arthur James Calvert. Flying Officer (Air Gunner) 45897, Royal Air Force. 218 Squadron. Killed in action 23rd September 1942 (Crewing Short Stirling R9187 HA-A on mission to Bremen, lost for unknown reason. No survivors). Son of George and Frances Calvert (nee Lacy). Husband of Margaret Aitken Calvert (nee Adam) of 9 Winter Wynd, Pittenweem, Scotland. Commemorated Runnymede Memorial. Panel 66.

Frank Newton Edwards. Captain 132452. 6th Battalion, Green Howards (Yorkshire Regiment). Died 26th October 1942. Son of Thomas Newton and Agnes Edwards (nee Woodifield) of Terrington. Born 1919 Kent (as Army Roll of Honour, place unspecified). Commemorated El Alamein War Cemetery. XXVII.C.5.

Leonard Johnson. Lance Bombardier 1087325. 142 Field Regiment, Royal Artillery. Died 16th September 1944. Son of John and Emma Evelyn Johnson (nee Bielby). Husband of Edith Mona Johnson (nee Wood, now wife of Robert Barker) of Flat Top Farm, Terrington (as probate). Born 17th April 1910 Westow. Commemorated Gradara War Cemetery. I.D.52.
LASCELLES	F A G	Wing Commander.
Francis Alfred George Lascelles. Distinguished Flying Cross, Mentioned in Despatches. Wing Commander (Pilot) 40398, Royal Air Force. 82 Squadron. Killed in action 28th August 1941 (Piloting Bristol Blenheim T2165 UX-W. Believed shot down by German fighter piloted by Lt. Dahne. No survivors). Son of Sir Alfred George Lascelles Kt., K.C and Lady Isabel Carteret Lascelles (nee Thynne) of Terrington. Born 1912. Commemorated Sage War Cemetery. 13.D.8.
