About the memorial: A green coloured bronze plaque with leaf design border in relief and in a wooden frame. The body of the plaque has dedication in raised lettering with two stem crossed red roses on top. The V2 rocket hit Tottenham Grammar school killing the 2 boys. Formerly at Somerset Hall, White Hart Lane. There is an adjacent interpretative notice which reads (there is one slight amendment in this transcription to comply with Copyright law)- The Tottenham Grammar School War Memorial, 1945-At about 1.30pm on 15th March 1945 one of Hitler's last V2-rocketts on London fell onto wasteland and at the corner of White Hart Lane and Queen Street. It was opposite the north-west corner of the Tottenham Grammar School, latterly The Somerset School site (now Somerset Gardens). In the event two boys, Peter Goodman and Harold Poulten, died from injuries received as a result. Another boy, Norman Burns, lost his right arm. A fourth boy, and a member of staff, who received injuries from flying glass, had to spend some time in hospital. A bronze plaque was erected as a memorial to the two young boys who had lost their lives. The V2-memorial (as it was called) remained in the West Field on a plinth surrounded by a chain fence until the school's closure and subsequent demolition. The plaque was then taken into care until arrangements were made for it's reinstatement in an appropriate spot on the redeveloped site. Part of this site was sold to Middlesex University to provide student accommodation. It was agreed the Memorial should be incorporated into one of the new Halls of Residence. These were to be called 'The Somerset Halls' in acknowledgement pf the site's association with the school and the Duke of Somerset's family. In November 1993, the Halls of Residence were formally declared open by His Grace the Duke of Somerset, and John Goodman (Peter Goodman's younger brother) also an old Tottenham Grammar School boy and who had travelled from the U.S.A. unveiled the Memorial in it's new site at a ceremony attended by many Old Boys. In May 2004 following the closure of Middlesex University and associated buildings at the White Hart Lane site, it was decided to remove the memorial. The memorial has been at Bruce Castle Museum since then. On 15th March 2015 the 70th anniversary of the V-2 tragedy, Harold Poulten's younger brother Stanley, and John Goodman (Peter Goodman's younger brother) attended a simple ceremony at Bruce Castle with representatives of the School Old Boys' Association and the Tottenham Grammar School Foundation, Flowers were laid at the Memorial and at Peter Goodman's grave in Tottenham Cemetery.
